Sandfield Park do not have any assistance from Liverpool City Council maintaining the roads. Street cleaning, unblocking of grids, drains and the general upkeep including bin waste disposal are all the responsibility of committee on behalf of the residents of the park.
From June 2024, SPRC have reached an agreement with a local company, LSSL (Liverpool Street Scene Liverpool), to carry out a schedule clean to all the roads and pathways.
All the waste bins are emptied weekly by our own contractor, paid for by the committee. It is the committee's desire to keep the park as clean and tidy as possible. Residents may notice Mathew 'walking around the park picking up litter and emptying bins, cutting grass verges and general maintenance . He is happy to help should you report anything that may have been missed. Please use the contact form should you have any queries.
As previously stated, the roads and pavements are not cleaned by the council, any litter picked up and put in the extra new bins by residents will also help keep the park looking neat and tidy. The less work we have to give to a contractor helps us to save funds and to use for other things in the future.
If a resident has any comment to make in regard to road cleaning, please contact us the committee via the link.
2024 Roads sweeping schedule:
From October 2024, LSSL will make two visits each week and the sweeper will split the park into two areas. South Drive & Central Drive will include New Hey, Courtfields, Heathwood & Downfield (if required). North Drive will include College Court and Hawthorne/Woodlands if required. Other side roads/courts will also be included if required.
The Park is made up of 3 main roads. Central Drive, North Drive and South Drive. The other elements of the road map are made up by Woodlands Park, Hawthorne Grove, College Court, New Hey, Ladyfields, Bracken Way, Courtfield Close, Downfield Close and Heathwood. The main purpose of the committee is to ensure that all the road surfaces are kept to a good standard. Pathways are also kept to a good standard. Repairs to sections of the road are carried out on a regular basis and remedial repairs to often completed annually.
Residents may notice that North Drive from Eaton Road to the bridge at the C.I. Club has not been cleaned. SPRC does not have any responsibility to upkeep this section of road as it does not belong to the park.
