NORTH DRIVE - MAJOR ROAD REPAIRS
North Drive, from Woodlands Park to the bridge has undergone major road surface works. The school side of the road was in much need of repair and following consultation with the residents who attended the latest AGM, agreement was reached to complete a significant section of North Drive, rather than 'patching it up' .

CI CAR PARK CLEARED BY SPRC.
In an effort to try restore a car parking facility at the CI Club, SPRC have cleared, swept and cleaned the area in preparation for the line painters to add bay parking. This is in association with the owners of the club and the hope is, it will help alleviate the daily congestion affecting the residents of Hawthorne Grove, Woodlands Park and College Court. The car park will offer around 45 spaces for parents dropping and collecting from the schools. SPRC are hoping to find a solution for someone to open/close the gates and facilitate with parking each day. Both schools and our local councillor have been contacted and we await their feedback .

POLICE ISSUE WARNING TO MOTORIST
Local police revisited Woodlands Park and Hawthorne Grove on 25th November and attended to the issue of bad parking. One driver was issued with a ticket for causing and unnecessary obstruction, whilst plenty of others were advised on how and where to park safely. All drivers who were not registered at the addresses were asked to move to prevent further obstructions.
PARKING CHAOS GETTING WORSE

Residents in Woodlands Park are suffering because of inconsiderate drivers. Blocking pathways and having no regard for pedestrians and making it especially difficult for the residents to get in and out of their own driveways. SPRC are planning dialogue with the schools, local council and have even took to informing our local police to try help. Hawthorn Grove experience the same problems, as do College Court.

PARKING PROBLEMS
Parking in the vicinity of Runnymede school and St.Edwards school is becoming an increasing problem. Woodlands Park, Hawthorne Grove, North Drive and now College Court are feeling the brunt of the excessive and inconsiderate parking by parents' dropping off/picking up their children from the schools. Historically, there has always been a level of heavy parking, the problem is worsening year on year. The situation has been compounded by the closure of the car park located at the CI club. This is due to Runnymede being transferred into a public school and now not having any facility with the CI club to remunerate any costs in association with parents. The CI Club are also under stricter insurance rules. SPRC are committed to try and resolve these issues and will be working with the schools, local council, police and the CI club over the coming weeks. These issues were also discussed at the latest AGM meeting. If a resident would like to make a comment or put forward a suggest please contact us here
CCTV UPGRADE
The committee feel that the CCTV has been a great benefit to the park. It was always planned to have additional cameras installed in a second phase, to ensure a better coverage of our roads. Five additional cameras will be located at the same place as the existing cameras but will face in the opposite direction. Installation will take place from January 2nd 2025.

On Saturday, 27th July our CCTV system recorded an individual dumping several boxes of Nitrous Oxide canisters (some still full) at the top of North Drive opposite College Court. PARK CLEANING
Many residents will have known Chris, who was responsible for keeping the park clean and tidy. Regrettably, Chris has decided to hang up his brush and retire from his post. On behalf of all the residents who knew Chris, the committee would like to thank him for his 10 years service and would like to wish him all the best for the future.
We are pleased to have found a contractor to provide us with a comprehensive plan to bring the park back up to the standards that residents expect. Mathew has recently taken up the reigns and no doubt residents will see him out and about on weekday mornings.
ROAD SWEEPING
SPRC have managed to secure a contract with a local organisation to sweep all the roads. We welcome LSSL (Liverpool City Street Scene Ltd) who will commence works on Monday 24th June. Sweeping will take place from 5pm and residents could help by parking their cars on driveways if at all possible. A full sweeping schedule will be advertised on the website.
